FRIDAY NIGHT IMPROV WORKSHOPS
FRIDAY NIGHT IMPROV WORKSHOPSInstructor Kristi Casey
Shake off the dust of everyday life and come play with us! This Friday night workshop for older teens and adults is a great way to connect with your inner child and fellow community members. Improv is an art form that anyone of any physical/mental ability and absolutely no experience can enjoy. If you were once a child, you can do this. Making things up is what you do all the time.
Come learn how to do it and make people laugh. Each week we'll explore new warm-ups, exercises and practice scenes to get you comfortable improving alone and in teams.
About the Instructor
Kristi Casey is an award-winning actress and comedian. She's one of the least famous alumni of Amsterdam's Boom Chicago Comedy Theater, where she played with Seth Meyers, Jordan Peele, and Amber Ruffin to name-drop some of the Emmy and Oscar Award-winning peeps she came up with there. She's performed at comedy festivals in Dublin, Galway, Chicago, New York, Brussels, Bruges, and Auckland. She studied improv at New York's Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and used to play with the OGs at Dad's Garage. Anyhoo, she's been making stuff up for a really long time and can't wait to play with y'all. Questions? WATERCOLOR CLASSInstructor Becky Peebles
Watercolors by Helen Smathers
The weekly watercolor classes with Becky Peebles are structured for beginners through advanced students. Each class is $35 per session.
Starting with loose washes and progressing to details, you will learn Becky's technique which could be described as realism with a dash of Impressionism (or soul!). Beginners through Advanced are welcome to attend.
Every other session begins with Becky demonstrating a particular technique, leading the class step by step. After this warm-up, the class will move on to individual work. Each demo is independent of the one before and after... you are never behind, even if you miss a class. The sessions in which there is no demo are to allow students to develop individual style with hands-on guidance.
There is no advance registration... these are ongoing classes. Limited seating is available. Please call Becky at 706-969-2052 to reserve your space. The class will be conducted following CDC and OSHA Guidelines for Phase 2 Opening as defined by the State of Georgia.Dates: every ThursdayTime: 1:00 till 4:00pmPlace: Community HallCost: $35 per sessionSkill level: Beginners through Advanced are welcome to attendRegistrationDeadline: On-going
