SNCA Presents the Helen Cannon Performing Arts Series 2012
Helen Cannon is a native of Habersham County and currently resides in Clarkesville, Georgia.
Helen attended Wesleyan College in Macon where she majored in music and was a member of the Macon Symphony. She shared her love for music locally as the band director for South Habersham High School and Jr. High School for 10 years. She has also taught at numerous elementary schools in the area. Helen has inspired many young people in northeast Georgia , while sharing her love of music.
After retiring from teaching, Helen owned the Sharps and Flats Music Store in Clarkesville for many years. As well as her musical accomplishments Helen is a skilled craftsperson. She has taught broom making numerous times at the John C. Campbell Folk School.
Helen’s gift to the performing arts program at SNCA has made it possible to provide our patrons with exciting touring artists, as well as enabling us to nurture the creativity of local performers. ....
The Lilies of the Valley return to the Sautee Nacoochee Center stage for the fifth year in a row. Their beautiful blend of harmonies and energy fill the house with sweet melodies and make all who hear them want more.
The four von Grey sisters started musical instruction early and have been raised in a family where almost every musical style has a place in their listening repertoire. Each of them brings a diversified range of instruments and tastes to their music.

The Sautee Nacoochee Community Chorale is comprised of about 40 singers who rehearse weekly for three months in order to prepare a musical ‘getaway’ for our community. Mark your calendars and come hear us sing!
